Computer Science and Engineering at a Glance

AIMS
The B.Sc. Program in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) is designed to produce skilled graduates in the field to satisfy the growing demands of computer engineering graduates in the home and abroad. It provides the students an opportunity to obtain the broad knowledge of Computer Science, Computer Engineering

STRUCTURE OF THE PROGRAM

Four Years Bachelor of Science(Hon's) in Computer Science and Engineering(CSE) for Regular Students. Medium of Instruction is English.

The undergraduate program is covered by a set of theoretical courses along with a set of laboratory courser to support them. The total credit hour of B.Sc. Engg. in Computer Science and Engineering degree  is 150 credits consisting of theory and lab and a thesis/project. 

TYPE OF COURSES

The types of courses included in the B. Sc. in CSE program are divided in to the following groups:

Core Courses: In B. Sc. in CSE program, a number of courses are identified as core courses, which form the nucleus of the program. A student has to complete all the designated core courses.

Prerequisite Courses: Some of the core courses are identified as prerequisite courses for a specific subject. A prerequisite course is the one that is required to be completed before some other course(s) can be taken.

Optional Courses: Apart from the core courses, the students can choose from a set of optional courses. A required number of optional courses from a specified group have to be chosen.

 

ADUATE ATTRIBUTES:

  • To be able to use a range of programming languages and tools to develop computer programs and systems that are effective solutions to problems.
  • To be able to understand, design, and analyze precise specifications of algorithms, procedures, and interaction behavior.
  • To be able to apply mathematics, logic, and statistics to the design, development, and analysis of software systems.
  • To be able to equip with a range of fundamental principles of Computer Science that will provide the basis for future learning and enable them to adapt to the constant rapid development of the field.
  • To be able to build software and embedded systems with the experience of working in teams.

  • Fee waiver for students securing A+ (GPA-5) at the H.S.C lever.
